Matt Pavelich was born in St. Ignatius, Montana, and attended the University of Montana, the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and the Northwest School of Law. He is the author of the short story collection Beasts of the Forest, Beasts of the Field, winner of the Montana First Book Award, as well as two novels, Our Savage and The Other Shoe (Counterpoint Press, 2012). Pavelich lives and works in Montana.
