Says Narrative’s poetry editor, Michael Wiegers, about Arthur’s poetry, “He borrows narratives from science, history, and nature—to name just a few—and overlays them across different times, across past, present, and future. In so doing, he creates a large-scale, complex pictorial metaphor to guide human understanding, much in the same manner that a novelist might orchestrate a grand metaphor. They’re like paintings that help me understand the world in which I live.”
