Narrative for Schools provides access to our complete library of literature, instructional materials, contests, curated reading lists, and video tutorials—free of charge—for teachers and students.

Writing

Open and free to high school students grades 9–12 in the US and abroad. Winners receive more than $2,000 in prizes, mentorship by esteemed Narrative editors and authors, and publication in Narrative.

Writing prompts from previous Narrative High School Writing Contests, lesson plans building on the works from the Narrative Library, discussion questions, and more.

Narrative’s community of writers offers advice and inspiration to student writers and their teachers.
