A Short Short Story

A powerful short story. Not a wasted word.

Strong and bracing, Sandra! Thanks.

Days later, your story haunts me. I went back and read it yet again, trying to figure out how you did it. It's exquisite.

Many of the details are different, but "Staph" reminds me of the last time I saw my own mother when I was seven years old.

The word "staph" has many connotations. I was lured by the title, and the story made so much sense given the definitions of the word, indeed a craft only a writer can be blessed with. I curtsy to you, Sandra.
