I loved your story. The bits and pieces of dialogue between the prisoners early on; Gina’s thoughts about what she is hearing and seeing; the assignments; the bits and pieces of poems; the letters; and her desire to disobey. It seems a good sign to be reading a story by a Canadian here at the Banff Centre where I am a visitor from across the border. It made me remember what I like in a story. It made me want to write.
Dear Elisabeth,

What a wonderful story. Thank you.
I liked the way the ending finalized the story with poetic grace.
I really liked this story and was pulled into the world of this teacher.
