I really liked it.

It reminds me of the time I took my two nephews, ages one and four, to the churchyard where their older brother's ashes were buried beneath a dogwood tree, planted there in memory of him. I thought I was bringing the boys to honor their brother on the sixth anniversary of his death, but what I was really doing was introducing their older brother to the two little ones. Thanks for your poem, Jenny. It's perfect and made me remember.

Powerful, haunting, and familiar as I try to keep my own parents' memories alive with my three small children. Thank you for bringing forth the edges.

Yes, death is about absence, and we accept it because we have to. But, like children, we still don't really understand.
