As a person living in Japan, I can state the last lines of the story are true. I feel the author clearly and accurately described the feelings of many people in Japan. However, there are still an amazing number of people who do not seem to care at all about the dangers of radiation in the food supply, etc. I hope to read more from this author.

Great essay. It captures the horror of disasters and how people go on with their lives. Here in the U.S. we hear little of this anymore. Thanks for keeping us informed.

A powerful essay. Thanks for "putting me there" briefly so that I can know a bit about what people think and feel after these disasters.
