Misinterpretations (her assumption that he wasn't doing something valuable when he left for the port) can certainly be the beginning of an awful conflict. We all come from different places and react differently based on those experiences. Neither of these two were satisfying the other's agenda. Sadly, the crisis ripped them apart in a hurry.
