Oh my goodness--what beautiful imagery. My breath is only now returning. Thank you, Maram al-Massri, for sharing such powerful words.

Like the comment before mine, this is just so beautiful. I am a woman who just celebrated fifty years of marriage - mostly a good marriage - but who among us, has not been in a relationship that sometimes has made us yearn for freedom, and not always necessarily from abuse, but from a binding that stifles our real need to fly solo, if only for a day . . . or two . . . or three . . .

WOW!!!! I'm blown away. That peom is truly worthy of being the poem of the week, month, year.

So honest the words bring tears to my eyes. Thank you.

Such seemingly miserable karma . . . the lessons we must learn from adversity. Are they worth it? A beautiful poem . . . thank you.

Haunting and beautifully written.
