What makes this poem is the philosophical insight, or suggestion of such, at the core of it. Great poems seem to have this. Something which one agrees with or, more precisely, something which I can agree with. However, this philosophical insight begs the complimentary poem that cites names that have scarred the human memory (names such as Auschwitz and Buchenwald, Sabra and Shatila . . .) changed by the similar application of the soothing ointment of a changed perspective.
