A Story

This story I found quietly sweet and cleverly subtle. It illustrates the inability men seem to have to let down their guard and communicate, especially with parents. The suspense about Janice started out slowly but by the end we see how heartbroken the narrator is and it's nicely mirrored in the scene between his father and mother, which also broke the child's heart we suspect. Beautifully done, I think.

What a beautifully told story. Quiet and powerful.
