Holly, did this story emerge from a dream? I ask because it has such a wonderful dreamlike quality and dreamlike logic. The psychoanalyst Christopher Bollas said that dreams are the most creative things our minds ever do, and he's right -- and least in my experience -- so if this was not something that emerged from a dream, then WOW, your conscious mind is amazingly dreamlike in its creative ability.

So great to see a fellow Wichita State MFA-fiction grad in Narrative. Holly's writing has always cast this kind of compelling vivid, continuous dream.
How do you do that ? How did you craft this story . . . it made me cry, made me feel everything the characters feel. An amazing story. Thank you.
