Just a wonderful poem and a miracle poem for me, as it is the anniversary of a dear's friend's going gentle into the good night without my permission, and this poem reminded me of mudlucious spring and that it all goes on and it is all worth it in the long run, considering the alternatives, and life, like this poem, is just flat beautiful, even charming, when seen in the proper light, which this poem throws on it all. Bravo y ole'.
I first read this beautiful, powerful poem last year but find myself returning to it again and again. I've printed it out and made copies of it, handing it to my father, my husband, my sister, to anyone I know who appreciates finely-crafted art. It works on me as well the fifth time as it did the first as it did the seventh and as it will next week, next month. Thank you, Leslie Harrison, for speaking of loss in such a way that I feel your want, your longing, your sorrow, your unwanted weightlessness.

I echo what Leah above has said—this is a poem I return to, again and again. It feels like a gift, to have read it. A sparse and headlong lovely.
