I had no clue Ruth Stone was gone: what a loss. What a wonderful, remarkable woman (she and Harriet Doer are my heroes), and what a fine, pleasant poet. This was a great way to begin this day, even with the belated news of her passing.
Ironically, I read this poem this morning after yesterday rereading Harriet Doerr's Consider This, Senora during my wife's shoulder surgery, and it knocked me for a double loop, especially after reading my old comment linking the two women. What a gorgeous, lovely poem. What a stunning morning.

Lovely poem--especially the last line.
