I love this story. I love Father. I just happily followed him along the narrative, enjoying the details (oh, the purse the size of a breadbox, say!), going where it was going. Of course it wasn't just going, it was arriving, and I loved that the writer gave us the tiny warning instead of playing shock games. Everything was as natural as life is, as dying is, as God is (for some). I love the clarity and humility and precision of the prose.
