Such a sad commentary on a person's hope and regret. Always go for it--from another person's perspective (the reader)-- she was also shy, but interested.

The art of the "what could've been" - human frailties come alive on the page. I was cheering for the protagonist all the way, hoping that he'd finally make the leap - into the arms of his sweet Maureen. And would've liked to have kept on reading this poignant yet hopeful story. Bravo!
