There are a lot of reasons this story is great, but I'll vote most for its eccentricity, it's downright originality. It is full of the most delightful details; in a way it's like a long phrase poem, this, and this, and that, and everything so unexpected but apt.

CB Anderson crafts a bittersweet image of this very human, real-life character, Nancy Luce, who faced life head-on despite the hardships and challenges life presented her.

I love this story! What an amazing character. I'd never heard of Nancy Luce and this was a delightful way to learn about her and her chickens.
Thanks, Sandra— I'm glad you enjoyed the story!
Thanks so much, Sarah— I enjoyed learning about Nancy Luce too!

Beautifully written. Redolent of seasons past with a hint of mystery. Hens are not often the heroines of a story!
Thank you, Adrian.
Thanks, Stella!
