As a former bouncer and bartender the first work is real enough to make the hairs on my arms stand on end. Truth and reflection.

The images of the cane pole and the dusky far bank and the sounds, smells, and the familial are too true and evocative. I have lived these scenes.

These are works that bear reading and rereading for their simple clarity, complex, evocative imagery, and an homage to an iconic patriarch.
