The sentiments expressed here are very like the 19th century American landscape painter Thomas Cole's advice to his friend, the father of American landscape painting, Asher B. Durand, on the healing powers of nature.
There are many parallel sentiments between these two very diverse cultures--China and America--that merit a closer look. We are more alike than different.
