I liked this story a lot, for its emotional coherence and Morency's commitment to the truth of the narrator's experience. Excellent writing, original and direct. I look forward to reading more of her work.
This is one of my favorite lines in the story. Thank you!
"It was not that their world studies teachers had failed in teaching them why. Rather, it took years of breathing to understand that events are not governed only by cause and effect and that outside a textbook humans act out a more messy reality."
Wow, what a world! At the heart of this story is a decision, but dressed in the complications and overwrought obsessive/compulsive behaviors of its heroine, things get complicated further. This story is a masterpiece. Bravo.
