David Prete was born in the Bronx and is the author of two novels: Say That to My Face and Born to a River. He is an accomplished actor who has worked in regional theater and independent films and is a cofounder of the Water Theatre Company. He has taught writing and acting at the University of Memphis and at the New School in New York City. Prete lives in Memphis, Tennessee.
