Geoff Dyer is the author of four novels, including Jeff in Venice, Death in Varanasi and eight works of nonfiction, including the collection of essays Otherwise Known as the Human Condition, winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award for Criticism. Another Great Day at Sea (2014) details his two-week residency on the USS George H. W. Bush. Born in Cheltenham and educated at Oxford, Dyer was made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and an Honorary Fellow of Corpus Christi College, Oxford. He lives in Venice, California.
