Heinz Insu Fenkl is the author of the novels Skull Water (Spiegel & Grau, 2023) and Memories of My Ghost Brother, a Barnes & Noble “Discover Great New Writers” selection. He is also known for a collection of Korean folktales and translations of classic Buddhist texts. Born in South Korea to a German father and a Korean mother, he grew up in Korea, then in Germany and the United States. A professor of English at SUNY New Paltz, he teaches creative writing, Asian and Asian American literature, and film. He lives in the Hudson Valley with his wife and daughter.
