Jim Shepard is the author of numerous novels, including Phase Six (2021) and The Book of Aron, winner of the Sophie Brody Medal, the Harold Ribalow Award, the PEN/New England Award, and the Clark Fiction Prize. He wrote the screenplay for the film And Then I Go, based on his novel Project X. His story collections include Like You’d Understand, Anyway, a Story Prize winner, and his short story “The World to Come” was made into a film by the same title (2021). Shepard lives in Williamstown, Massachusetts, and teaches at Williams College.
