Kate Rutledge Jaffe worked as an assistant editor for a collection of oral histories, Hope Deferred: Narratives of Zimbabwean Lives (2010). A native of Seattle and a graduate of Reed College, Jaffe is currently in the MFA program at the University of Montana. She is a recipient of the Fulton Prize for her short fiction.
