Louise Aronson is the author of A History of the Present Illness and has earned three Pushcart nominations for her short fiction. She has received degrees from Brown University, Harvard Medical School, and the Warren Wilson Program for Writers. The founding director of University of California San Francisco Medical Humanities, she is also a geriatrician and an associate professor of medicine at UCSF. She lives in San Francisco.
