Margaret Atwood

Margaret Atwood is Canada’s most eminent novelist and poet. The author of more than fifty works of short fiction, criticism, screenplays, and books for children, she is best known for novels whose strong women characters wrestle with contemporary urban life and sexual politics. Atwood’s recent work includes The Door, a collection of poetry, Payback, and The Year of the Flood (2009). She serves as vice president of international PEN as well as honorary copresident of the Rare Bird Club of Birdlife International. Atwood lives in Toronto.
