Mark Richard is the best-selling author of the novel Fishboy, as well as two award-winning short story collections, The Ice at the Bottom of the World and Charity. A recipient of the PEN/Ernest Hemingway Foundation Award, a Whiting Foundation Writers’ Award, the Mary Francis Hobson Medal for Arts and Letters, and a National Magazine Award for Fiction, he has been a writer in residence at several leading universities, including the University of California, Irvine; the University of Mississippi; and Arizona State. Richard lives in Los Angeles with his wife and three sons.
