Mary Swan

Mary Swan is the author of the novel The Boys in the Trees, which was inspired by a nineteenth-century newspaper clipping about the murder of the Heath family. Nominated for the 2008 Scotiabank Giller Prize, it also won an Amazon First Novel Award. Her short story “The Deep” received the 2001 O. Henry Award for short fiction and later became the title of her debut collection in 2003. Swan is a graduate of York University and the University of Guleph and lives in Guleph, Ontario, with her family.
