Maureen Burgess

Maureen Burgess earned her BA in English from Fairfield University and her MA and PhD in English from Ohio State University; her work on progressive-era women writers was awarded the Muste Award for Best Dissertation. A life-long educator, Burgess lives with her husband in Manhattan, where she is the middle-school head and dean of teaching and learning at a K-12 independent school for girls. She also serves as a faculty associate at Bard College’s Institute for Writing and Thinking. This is her first fiction publication.
