Monica Ali is the author of five novels: Brick Lane, adapted into a feature film produced by Film Four; Alentejo Blue; In the Kitchen; Untold Story; and Love Marriage. A fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, she served as a visiting professor at Columbia University and as a Distinguished Writer in Residence at the University of Surrey. She is the patron of Hopscotch Women’s Centre, a charity supporting ethnic minority families and empowering women and girls to achieve their full potential. She lives in London.
