Russell Banks is the author of numerous works of fiction, including the Pulitzer Prize finalists Continental Drift and Cloudsplitter and the story collection American Standard (Ecco/HarperCollins, 2013), as well as poetry and nonfiction. The recipient of many awards, including the O. Henry and Best American Short Stories, he is a professor emeritus at Princeton University and a member of both the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Banks lives in upstate New York and Miami, Florida.
