Stephanie Dering graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in Latin American studies. She was awarded the Elsie F. Filippi Memorial Prize in Poetry in 2011 and was a finalist in the 2013 Narrative 30 Below Contest. Dering lives in Chicago.
