Timur Jonathan Karaca was born in San Francisco. He received an MS in biochemistry from UCLA and completed an MD and a residency in anesthesiology at UCSF. He lives in Oakland, where he practices anesthesiology, and is a student at the Writers Studio in San Francisco.
