Vikram Chandra is the author of two novels, Red Earth and Pouring Rain, recipient of the Commonwealth Writers Prize and the David Higham Prize, and Sacred Games. The story collection Love and Longing in Bombay also received several awards, including the Commonwealth Writers Prize for Best Book. A nonfiction work, Geek Sublime: Writing Fiction, Coding Software, discusses the culture of programming with classical Indian aesthetics. Chandra lives with his wife in Mumbai and Berkeley.
