X. J. Kennedy

X. J. Kennedy began publishing his own science fiction magazine, Terrifying Test-tube Tales, at age twelve. Nude Descending a Staircase, his first collection of poems, won the Lamont Award in 1961. Kennedy is the author of many books for children and has coedited several textbooks and anthologies. In September 2007 Johns Hopkins University Press will publish In a Prominent Bar in Secaucus: New & Selected Poems; and BOA Editions, Peeping Tom’s Cabin: Comic Verse. Kennedy lives in Lexington, Massachusetts, with writer Dorothy M. Kennedy.
