The story I want to tell you is about the Law. Not the kind that governs right-on-red or filing tax returns, though we ignore such rules at our peril, don’t we? What I mean is the Law that condemns us all. It is not fashionable to talk about that today, because I am okay and you are okay, but everyone knows about it, deep down. We are trespassers. I’m talking about the Law that makes you feel condemned, late at night, even when you have been promoted at work, your lover is exhausted with happiness, and the roof has stopped leaking. Also, there are lambs among you. I will show you one.
