I read both this story and the author's other piece published here, "Kristina, Goodbye." The prose is flowing and moving, the characters and their relationships are complex and vividly drawn. Most striking, though is how both stories with the perfect degree of ambiguity. They don't answer all the questions neatly, but make you think long and deeply. Bravo!

Powerful imagery from the jack-knifing truck to the converging laborers.
Terrific first paragraph. Nobody could stop reading after that--
Beautiful story. Felt so real and filled with an immediacy of danger and tragedy that you could almost touch.
Thank you, Nate!
Sandra, thank you so much!
Thank you so much reading, Reena, your generosity is much appreciated!
This is an incredible story. I've never read anything remotely like it before. Kudos to the author.
Sandy, you made my year, thank you.
