I really liked this story; the examination of the relationship Ira and Ada had with each other as well as with themselves was very thought provoking. It rang true.
I admired this story, almost novel-like in its scope. The characters, their shared and individual histories were satisfying and true. It will stay with me for processing and further rumination.

The gifts we are given that we have not earned--I call it grace. This writing perfectly illustrates grace in the most unexpected way. Always recognizing the humanity in one another.

Julie. Thank you for writing a painting as well as a story and two lives. I wept a little when I finished reading. Gorgeous writing! Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Such a poetic and lovely story of how our lives intertwine and how we are sometimes indebted to others but never take the time or effort to say thanks. Thanks for creating this story.
I loved the sweep of this story, the confident summaries that hold just the right details to make them work. The "threads" are there, but you aren't sure until the end, which is the perfect place for everything to come together. Of course.

There is something terribly engrossing, yet natural, about this story, emotions and memories mingling like the pale veins on the underside of a leaf. The final moment of connection with the beginning is incredibly satisfying. Superb.

I love the characters and the way they are presented, flawed yet admirable, and the texture of the writing is beautiful.
I loved how this story pulled me through each line, not wanting to let it go until I'd absorbed each and every moment. Well done!
