I am so glad Narrative awards these writers who write of life's truths. I am discouraged as a reader to see popular fictionalized accounts of tales promoted and over hyped like so much mass media nowadays. Alex R. Jones seems to care about and see his father as vulnerable. Yet he loves his father warts and all, and seems to extol his father almost when others would in similar situation would most likely condemn and desecrate. I am a rather inexperienced reader compared to most who comment here. I came here looking to learn from reading the poignant tales expressed so professionally from the heart and minds of the writers featured here. I am so glad to have read this tale, and for Narrative to recognize "Year of the Great Voyage."
