Loved this beautifully rendered tale of a man nearing the end of his days; a father of sons--one living, one dead--in a place brought to life in vivid detail on the page. The practice of falconry binds father to son as he makes peace with what was and what is.

Stunning in its simplicity, this story had me filled with emotion. The two main characters came to life beautifully and inhabited the story so comfortably. I felt the cold winter and soared with the falcon. I shared the son’s loving concern about his father, and felt joy at the conclusion.
