A Story

I read this story, thinking of all the people I know whose relationships lived and then died. Renée does a great job of capturing the gritty details of life. In other words, we don't always get what we want. Sometimes sincere promises are made and broken. Sometimes we love people who leave us, and once they go, we have to accept that they aren't coming back. But as the old saying goes, "When one door closes, another opens."

If I could have read on, I would have.

Renée,

The Old West lives in your modern day characters. Great dialogue, character development, and story line make me want to read more about these folks and where they'll go.

Very colorful and rich! Filled with past, present, and future possibilities.

I love this story! I love the description and the sometimes terse, but colorful way the characters are described. You have a nice ability to say exactly what needs to be said without a lot of extra words. And there's so much more I want to know. It's a wonderful short story; why not develop it into a novel? The characters are intriguing—and I love the dog!

Great writing talent. Very artfully crafted.
